KAHULUI, Maui- As the newly elected president of the Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce, Virgilio Agcolicol who is a Business Banking Officer of the Central Pacific Bank, Kahului Branch, has identified four goals aimed at energizing the organization. They are: increasing membership and benefits, supporting each other's business, being a political force, and taking care of our young people.
In his letter to its members, Agcolicol encourages the general membership to actively participate in the planning, implementation and enjoyment of the Chamber's progress.
He believes that each has a gift of talent that is of great service to the community through the activities of its various committees.
Based from remarks, some members would like to see the holding of the "Gintong Pamana" Leadership and Achievement Award this year.
As a seasoned community leader, Agcolicol has served in various positions of the Maui Community Council, United Filipino Council of Hawaii and other non-profit organizations. He was honored as one of the "Outstanding Filipinos of Maui, 1906- 2006" by the Maui Filipino Chamber of Commerce.
During the last 40 years, Agcolicol has been an announcer at his radio program "Liwliwa iti Agsapa," 4 am - 6 am, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at KNUI Fox Radio AM 900.*
