WASHINTON, D.C.- The following individuals have been confirmed as the 2009 Twenty Outstanding Filipino Abroad [TOFA] by the TOFA Panel Board of Judges headed by Nonoy and Aida Mendoza of the Filipino Image Magazine, The Pinoy Global Online News and the Roxanne Andrea Mendoza Memorial Foundation.
The popular project was initiated in 1990 and have been annually commended by the governments of the United States, Canada adn the Philippines. The bio-data and photographs of the awardees and the 320 past TOFA are found in the web site www.filamimage.com.
The 3-day 16th annual event starts on Thursday night, August 27, 2009 with an informal get together for the awardees and their invited guests at the Presidential Suites of the Mendozas.
It will be followed by luncheon on August 28, 2009 with the VIPs commemorating the 22nd Anniversary of the founding of FILIPINO IMAGE Magazine. In the evening will be a Dinner Reception at the Philippine Embassy. On August 29 will be the VIP Tour of the Historic Monuments around the Nation's Capital followed by the Gala Banquet and Ball Award Presentations in the evening at the J.W. Marriot Hotel in Washington, D.C.
