Nominations for Progress Awards Now Accepted

HONOLULU- The United Filipino Council of Hawaii(UFCH) is now accepting nominations for the 2010 Progress Awards. The event  is an annual statewide program that recognizes outstanding Hawaii residents of Filipino ancestry for their excellence and accomplishments in their field of expertise, as well as civic mindedness and sustaining service to the community-at-large.  These individuals serve as inspirational role models for others with similar goals and personal characteristics.

A previous winner in a category cannot re-apply or be re-nominated in the same category.  An individual may apply or be nominated in a single category in each year. Winners in each category will be based on their past and current accomplishments and the contribution they make toward their respective field.

Winners will be notified thru the phone, e-mail, or postal mail by the Chairperson on or before September 27, 2010.  The Progress Awards Banquet will  held on October 16, 2010 the Hawaii Prince Hotel.
 
During the event, reaffirmation of  the newly elected officers and board of governors of UFCH will take place.
